Does anyone know how to do this? I can't figure it out for the life of me, it just opens to a quicktime type page that allows me to play it streaming or whathaveyou. I know its possible because I managed to do it accidently once. There must be some complicated button pressing involved. Please advise.

It's easy -- hold down the control key while clicking on the link and select 'Download link to disk.'

xpost, so ... same as in Explorer

Hmm, then I'm not sure. On Explorer you can click the link and keep the mouse button pressed (or just ctrl-click) and you get a contextual menu with "download to disk" as one of the options

Well I never claimed to be intelligent. I know I did some which I thought was 'download to disk' and it just downloaded a link to the website, so I thought thats what that did. Clearly I was wrong!

Hey, guess what? Why don't you try and practice by getting this amazing German early 80s band, Dschinghis Khan's wave files from this web site:

Control key works for me.

Also: Azareus for Bit Torrent; Thoth / MTNW for news; Limewire / Poisoned for P2P.
