songs that are less than 2 minutes

This thread has helped me a great deal, but I need help finding as many songs as I can that that are shorter than 2 minutes - most of the ones listed here are between 2 and 3.

I know a lot of bands have put out albums where every song is less than 2 minutes, but in most cases these songs aren't really that great, so high quality songs are preferred. Or if the song is extremely short, like less than 5 seconds, those are good to know as well.

billstevejim, Saturday, 13 March 2004 21:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Every song on The Residents' "Commercial Album" is approximately one minute long. Most of them are very good indeed, and there are 40 to choose from.

Nom De Plume (Nom De Plume), Saturday, 13 March 2004 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

There are lots of songs on Naked City's various records that are less than 1 minute long. "Listen To This" by Red Crayola is 8 seconds.

Jazzbo (jmcgaw), Saturday, 13 March 2004 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Adventures in Stereo. the first comp (the "blue" S/T CD) is just an embarrassment of perfectly formed mini-popsongs. the "yellow" S/T isn't bad, though i've had little use for AiS after that.

echoinggrove (echoinggrove), Saturday, 13 March 2004 22:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Those cute little "Fingertips" tunelets on They Might Be Giants' "Apollo 18" album.

AMG has better info, but I can't link it. Anyone, there's one song over a minute, the rest average thirty-seconds.

Uhh... the third track on Loveless.
I guess I'm not the only person who has a really hard time remembering track titles from this album.

No. That's not the reason I don't know the title. I don't know it because it's my dad's cd and he throws away the sleeves and jewle cases to all his cds.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 14 March 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Carrie Turner (cjt), Monday, 15 March 2004 05:02 (twenty-one years ago)

felt - 'sandman's on the rise'.
it's great as it just *stops* suddenly like they thought
'ah fck it' when it could have gone on for
a good 2 minutes more verse/chorus/fade style.
it always catches me off guard no matter how
many times i hear it. love it!

piscesboy, Monday, 15 March 2004 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sure "Minutemen to thread" is so obvious I don't need to say it :)
Bad Religion "Turn On the Light"- gets points for using big Graffin words like "incendiary"

Donna Brown (Donna Brown), Monday, 15 March 2004 16:02 (twenty-one years ago)

The entirety of the Rapeman single for Sub Pop is under two minutes - both Inky's Butt Crack and Song Number One are only at about the 50 second mark.

I'm not trying to think of a two sided single (that is, one with recordings on both sides) with a shorter running time. An obvious contender is the 7" that came free with early copies of Grindcrusher - You Suffer by Napalm Death on one side and Mega-Armageddon Death by the Electro Hippies on the other, both clocking in at a second each - but this wasn't a commercial release.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 15 March 2004 16:21 (twenty-one years ago)
