dud.

I just don't like them.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 13 March 2004 23:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I believe that the headset mic illustrates the clear link between telemarketers and Garth Brooks.

D J Miklethun, Saturday, 13 March 2004 23:43 (twenty-two years ago)

A godsend for singing drummers. Otherwise, worse than useless - a prop so that Britney Spears can pretend she's singing.

Rick Massimo (Rick Massimo), Saturday, 13 March 2004 23:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah. I never though of the drummers singing.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 13 March 2004 23:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but can you imagine Levon Helm with a headset mic on "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down"?

I guess I don't mind them as much with dancers like Britney, but I'm not convinced anybody can truly dance and truly sing at the same time...

Pete Scholtes, Sunday, 14 March 2004 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

No. At least not like that. The whole point of seeing her "preform" is to see her dance isn't it? It has to be. Why would you see her to hear her music? Just listen to her cd if you want that. You'll never hear one of her songs live.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 14 March 2004 00:03 (twenty-two years ago)

only cool when vocoded and the singer's wearing sunglasses.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Sunday, 14 March 2004 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Liz Phair sports the headset because she is actually playing Xbox live on stage (and gets paid to do so).

Ernest P. (ernestp), Sunday, 14 March 2004 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Neil Young during his Trans tour did so as well. It was all part of the theme I suppose.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Sunday, 14 March 2004 00:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Masonna to thread.

Stephen Boyle (SBoyle), Sunday, 14 March 2004 01:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Classic, for Nivek Ogre, at least.

anode (anode), Sunday, 14 March 2004 01:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Ruins to thread too. Sasaki the bassplayer wears one so it's easier for him to sing and play a thousand notes every minute at the same time.

udu wudu (udu wudu), Sunday, 14 March 2004 01:05 (twenty-two years ago)

they sound like shit, except for the really expensive ones, and they make controlling the volume of your voice so much more difficult.

the surface noise (electricsound), Sunday, 14 March 2004 05:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Masonna to thread.

and Madonna

tod (tod), Sunday, 14 March 2004 11:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah. I never though of the drummers singing.

Das Pop to thread. Singing drummers : classique.

jesus nathalie (nathalie), Sunday, 14 March 2004 11:23 (twenty-two years ago)

the first pop performer I recall w/headseat mic was the immortal Howard Jones. I guess he needed free hands to cavort w/ his mime sidekick. Uh, DUD.

lovebug starski, Sunday, 14 March 2004 13:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't imagine any singers who actually CARE about how they sound using one. Saying that, classic on females as it ups the cuteness factor.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Sunday, 14 March 2004 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Huge picture of a band with the singer/guitar player wearing a headset microphone.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 14 March 2004 14:50 (twenty-two years ago)

HARRY PUSSY ... but other than that it seems only fake christians wear them.

SexyDancer, Monday, 15 March 2004 00:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't imagine any singers who actually CARE about how they sound using one.

EVERY singer cares how they sound.

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 15 March 2004 00:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I use one at work.

OCP (OCP), Monday, 15 March 2004 05:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Why aren't there more music videos where the singer is at the other end of a McDonald's drive-through? That might actually make the headset sexy.

Pete Scholtes, Monday, 15 March 2004 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

five months pass...
REVIVE!

Ok, I want one of these for doing vocals and for playing a bamboo flute. What's good and cheap -- also I assume the mic is unidirectional and not suited for playing a flute -- where is the flute's sound coming from and how do I get the mic to get it?!??!!?
