Soulseek: Anyone Else Have The Problem Of being Used As A Supernode,Therefore Being Slowed Down?

Have you noticed how some people can't seem to download at a good speed on slsk despite not downloading elsewhere and noone else is uploading from you? Or despite no uploads happening your upload bandwith IS being used?
It's apparently because slsk uses your pc as a supernode.
Perhaps some ILX techie will be able to explain better.

Click on 'view' and then 'view searches' You might see a load of searches you havent made and it updates every second. Theres always stuff in the searches that you would never ever search for. Like bestiality or rape videos.
Does this happen to anyone else here?

Kazaa was the first system to use "supernodes", slsk uses this system too (it's called parent/children here). You have a chance of becoming a "parent" when you're not firewalled and have high up/down bandwidth. Searches are distributed in the slsk network, so whether you're a parent or a child, you'll always see those strange searches passing through in View/View Searches.
