Will this be good? Or won't it descend into a chalet-to-chalet S&M orgy?

RUMOUR CONTROL

"Despite the current rash of unfounded and malicious internet rumors, presumably intended to confuse and f**k things up for other people, we want to make the following quite clear:

The forthcoming performance by THROBBING GRISTLE at RE~TG on the Industrial Weekend at Camber Sands, May 14-16th 2004 will be a ONE TIME ONLY DEAL.

TG will NOT be playing ANY other shows -
NOT in Europe, NOT in the US, NOT ANYWHERE!!!

At their recent recording sessions at Mute Studios in London, TG demonstrated (somewhat to their own surprise) that they were able to get on, and to play both old and new material with the same passion and intensity as before, HOWEVER the four members' agendas, schedules, living arrangements, and personal projects make it impossible that this event will be repeated.

If you are interested in witnessing TG in action, this show will be your ONE and ONLY opportunity.

DO NOT MISS IT."

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 02:16 (twenty-two years ago)

needs more whitehouse

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 02:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I misread "Carter Tutti" as "Aaron Carter." I should go to bed.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Tuesday, 16 March 2004 02:44 (twenty-two years ago)

who are V.V.E.? is it supposed to be V.V.M.?

ken taylrr, Tuesday, 16 March 2004 03:26 (twenty-two years ago)

you cunts. i wanna go.

Sasha (sgh), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 04:41 (twenty-two years ago)

needs more whitehouse

No way TG would allow Whitehouse anywhere near them. As to there being "no way this could possibly suck" - well if you're referring to the TG reunion as opposed to the entire weekend then I think there's every possibility could suck.

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 09:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Have you seen the photos to promote this gig: Chris Carter looks exactly the same and Peter Christopherson looks like he's about to saw a lady in half or pull a dove out of his sleeve - I know he's into magick but I'd always presumed that was more Aleister Crowley than The Great Soprendo. Meanwhile it's hard to know who looks more like Deirdre Barlow - Gen or Cosey...

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:00 (twenty-two years ago)

linkada photo..

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:04 (twenty-two years ago)

you want a pic, mark?

is it just me or is this is a weird line-up? that said, carl craig, whitehouse, merbow, matmos, SPT, coil and TG. bound to be great.

jesus nathalie (nathalie), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I was thinking of this one.

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:11 (twenty-two years ago)

No way TG would allow Whitehouse anywhere near them.

Why is this? Is there some kind of history between the two groups?

I was hoping Whitehouse would be playing ATP because of the Albini connection. In fact, I'm still hoping.

Jason J, Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:55 (twenty-two years ago)

GPO looks like he's all ready to star in a Beyond the Valley of the Dolls remake.

anode (anode), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Why is this? Is there some kind of history between the two groups?

Yes, William Bennett was an original TG groupie but fell out with Gen for some reason - Gen then went on to say how bored he was with all those idiotic groups who went on about Nazis and serial killers, apres TG, meaning Whitehouse primarily.

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 12:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Fair play. Whitehouse are totally back on form, mind. As for the rest of the bill, there's just a little too much I don't recognise to sell this one for me.

Jason J, Tuesday, 16 March 2004 12:24 (twenty-two years ago)

peter christopherson looks like....

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 22 March 2004 15:24 (twenty-one years ago)

... is that David Berglas? In which case see my comment above: Peter Christopherson looks like he's about to saw a lady in half or pull a dove out of his sleeve

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 22 March 2004 15:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, it just took a week for me to remember his name, that was all...

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 22 March 2004 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)
