More on the retro electro tip: ADULT. (<--- the period is very important!)

Imagine a female version of The Normal.

Anyone see the electro sound-clash show last Thursday in New YOrk (Peaches, Chicks on Speed, Khan, Adult)? I am SICK that I missed that show.

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mixed Up in the Hague, put together by I-F, is out the door, fucking outstanding. Cybotron have a couple good tracks, Klein & MBO aren't bad, and Man Parrish has other good stuff, "Man- Made" and "Heatstroke" in particular, but I really think Mixed Up in the Hague is all you need.

Otis Wheeler, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mixed Up in The Hague? I'm intrigued. We did have another electro thread with loadsa recommendations, right? But on the new electro front, that The Other People Place album really is great.

oh good, someone bought this up again. i bought that classic electro mastercuts album and some of it is well good, but im looking for somehing slightly different, im guessing late maybe 85/86? seeing paul hardcastle on that list, made me think - thats the speed im looking for - the other stuff is pretty slow.

what stuff came out later on in the mid 80's?

ambrose, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

some shots in the dark were heard here

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Anthony Rother?

Brian MacDonald, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

eleven years pass...

don't really know where to put this. anyway, i put up a nice obscure 80's springfield mass teen boogie rocker on the youtube. i dig it. thought some people here might too.

model 500 smashed it last night at bloc. why did proper electro never take off the way house and techno did?

the late great, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 16:45 (eight years ago)

Musical Box is the one I like best from these, it does have a TLS atmosphere about it. Never heard the Pollon record before!

saer, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 16:56 (eight years ago)

I'm unsure of the difference between electro and bobbins of the past threads its bad enough trying to remember the names of records here is heath brunner being too fast again but it suits when he has a more electro hat on

saer, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 19:08 (eight years ago)

I started out with a full stop and a couple of commas but some chancer robbed them off me on the way to thread

saer, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 19:09 (eight years ago)

imo the difference between techno and electro is that I know it when I hear it

thanks to tlg to the tresor/RA link. I loved those tracks and got busy doing work and now I've realized I've listened to five or six other things on tresor's account and I'm knee deep in a delta funkionen set

mh, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 20:07 (eight years ago)

There's been a lot of good deep electro in the past few years, I'll try to post some youtubes when I get home

brimstead, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 22:38 (eight years ago)

ok i love these tunes but they aren't in your face hard, this is all strictly dreamy spaceship journey stuff.. also some are from earlier in the 00s and the analogous doom track is from 08
