I'M A H-TOWN SOLDIER, RUNNIN BOYS OVER
SYRUP IN MY SODA, THE BIG BANK FOLDER
GETTIN COLDER AND COLDER, JUST LIKE WIN
THE MORE I GET OLDER, THE MORE I SHINE
SLIM THUGGER, THE BIG BOSS MOTHERFUCKER
ALL I NEED IS A BEAT AND A SWEET TO TOUCH YA
I'M OFF THE NORTH SIDE-- NORTH, THE NORTH SIDE
REPRESENT WITH PRIDE, WATCH ME TAKE IT WORLDWIDE
like the fifth best guy you want to hear wreck a slowed beat, the only one that talks conventionally about selling crack and can still talk properly about his cars and trucks, the northside's ambassador (the esg/slim thug team-up was like some sort of royal marriage thing between two warring houses [esg repping for screwed up click on the southside and slim thug repping for the swishahouse click on the northside] and semi-deaded the beef between suc and swishahouse [and screw died, too, and swishahouse conquered houston, which was mostly what did it, i think][flip does songs with slim thug and disses/is dissed by slim's partner esg])-- the important thing is, he can do the mixtape stuff, kill any slowed beat and still do it at regular speed, he has classic verses on swishahouse/boss hogg outlaws stuff (MR. BLING BLING ON THE OOCHIE WALLY BEAT, I DON'T GIVE A FUCK FREESTYLE, MONEY IS MY BITCH FREESTYLE, BATTER UP FREESTYLE WITH PAUL WALL AND CHAMILLIONAIRE) and classic verses on his regular stuff and like every houston veteran he has thousands of records out and a greatest hits already and lots to hear. and he just signed with interscope this week. h-town doing big things!

I think I nominated his "Still Tippin'" (w/ Mike Jones) on the rolling singles thread.

(last time I heard it on the radio, the next song up was part of a screwed "Jesus Walks")

four weeks pass...
everybody (especially david jenson) who thinks rap music is wack needs to step off the planet and die. rap will always be here as long as there are black people around. much loveto slim thug and esg for contributing to putting houston on the map and that includes lil flip and all the underground rappers like the fakkulty and street military. and i can't forget the trinity garden cartel for the great music they put out too. i love all y'all niggaz. keep bangin'.

well i grow up listening to swrew music and as i got older and had a choice of music i still preferred lil flip and slim thug . I mean lil flip had one of the longest freestyles i have eva heard and slim has always put out hot shit to make you think. so who ever says rap is dumb or just houston rap like slim said "if you dont like my style you could suck my pop-sicle". ya heard-yung cel

I think slim is the best thing to come out of h-town since desting child, slim is the only rapper that I can pick up his cd with out listen to it first cause I know i going to wreck every verse, but be looking out for me slim "Royalti" when I get my money right we got to do something.

four years pass...

anyone know what the essential non-already platinum slim thug material to get is? i have some old mixtapes but not really any that make me think 'i cant live without this'.

Serve & Collect by his group Boss Hogg Outlawz is certainly with your time. There was a second volume, but I haven't heard it.

what about pre-star track though?

Anticipating more delicious random-Googler rap discussion

xp: I can't really answer that. His tracks on The Day Hell Broke Loose 2 are worth seeking (as is the rest of the comp). There's no Neptunes on Serve & Collect tho. I'm pretty sure it's all Houston dudes producing.
