The most obnoxious thread to ever hit alt.music.alternative returns. Please don't name more than 10. Try not to list complete shit. Don't expect me to continue this. Consider the backwards format a sobriety test or, if you're cynical, my stealthy way of starting a Zorn thread. Send all blame, hate mail, death threats, to the email address below.

ZEITGEIST BY THE LEVELLERS? For pity's sake. You might as well list Zoolook.

Or Zeit by Tangerine Dream, which is what for want of being arsed to think about it is what I'm going to do.

Off the top of my head I doubt if I own any with titles starting with 'Z' aside from the aforementioned Tangerine Dream. Which is an excellent choice.

WARREN FUCKING ZEVON.

mac., Thursday, 15 February 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

off the top of my head: afrika bambaataa's 'zulu nation throwdown', odb's brooklyn zoo 12", and, um, i can't think of anything else. 'zingalamaduni' wasn't as bad as everyone says it is. how about something from jay- z?

thank god no one's named zaireeka. yet.

ethan padgett, Thursday, 15 February 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I should note, Mac, that Warren Fucking Zevon is a person and not an album. ;-)

And thank you for reminding of _Zaireeka_! Brilliant stuff. ;-)

Ziggy Stardust

ok, so that's not the real, full title, but still...

brent d., Sunday, 18 February 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Right. Excellent idea, _Zaireeka_, Ethan.

Zima Junction - Mark Burgess and the Sons of God. Well worth digging out if you can find it, if only for the bizarre cover version of 'You Only Live Twice'.

Got to be 'Zuma', I think.

well here goes my elusive cool factor - Zooropa, U2...that JOhnny Cash song still reminds me of my cocksucking exploits in Argentina.

Yes, Zaireeka! is great once you get all 4 stereos together. Singularly, there is something to be desired, but 4 cds for the small sum of $24 is a great deal, especially when the album is one of a kind. Also, when the 4 cds are played together, it becomes obvious it is more than just a gimmick. The songs are complete and orchestrated, cds worbling in and out of phase like aliens speaking to ghosts on the astral plane. Beautiful discs. Thank god someone remembered them.

Zenyatta Mondatta - although it's not as good as Ziggy Stardust. It's underrated, though, kind of the Police's Soft Parade
