I'm liking this - obviously has something of a US slant, but it's not hard to find local equivalents.

This is lame, the vinyl question puts me into the hundreds by itself.

LITTLE LAMB [Jon Williams] (ex machina), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Got all the way down to the Pete & Pete question, realized that I a) knew the name of the band that did the theme song was Polaris and b) that I actively searched for recordings by them (though never found, but it was when I lived in the sticks).

I must now go fall on a sword.

I can't believe one person wrote that whole thing. They must do a lot of speed (10 points).

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:35 (twenty-two years ago)

196

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, small world. Pete Bejarano is my cousin. I remember him telling me about this a few years back. I think he wrote it while working for the UCSD radio station.

And, no, I don't think he was on speed.....Pixie sticks maybe?

kickitcricket, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 20:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm around 400... wicked socal centric.

LITTLE LAMB [Jon Williams] (ex machina), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 20:08 (twenty-two years ago)

You were ever drunk or high at a straight-edge show (10 points)

I should've gotten more points for this as I was performing both drunk AND high at a straight-edge show.

I got 262. I got 75 points alone on the musician one (add 5 for each non-standard-rock instrument x mandolin, synthesizers, accordion, saxomophone, electric piano, and melodica - if I had counted 5 points for each individual synth I own it woulda been 3 digits).

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 20:12 (twenty-two years ago)

100 points for having seen NMH??

mike a, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 21:24 (twenty-two years ago)

The Wesley Willis headbut put me over the edge.

stephen morris, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 21:50 (twenty-two years ago)

103. Apparently I suck.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Thursday, 18 March 2004 00:52 (twenty-two years ago)

915 BUT only because i worked at that radio station (it's the worst radio station in the world all things considered).

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 18 March 2004 01:13 (twenty-two years ago)

that thing is way too fuckin long and doesn't even tally yr points for you! Therefore me = too lazy to be a scenester.

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 18 March 2004 01:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Gygax, did your radio show have "emo" in the description???

LITTLE LAMB [Jon Williams] (ex machina), Thursday, 18 March 2004 02:00 (twenty-two years ago)

haha, no... it was the embarrassingly poorly named "signal to noise" program.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 18 March 2004 02:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I lose for liking blink 182, (but I like them "ironicly"?)

A Nairn (moretap), Thursday, 18 March 2004 02:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I got bored about halfway in but I think the only things I scored points on were having bad skin, being in a band and owning a synth.

ferg (Ferg), Thursday, 18 March 2004 05:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I was doing ok but also lost all my points for liking Blink-182. Does that make me a bad person?

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 18 March 2004 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I got 25! Hooray!

Know what EBM is (10 points)

What, my blog is for scenesters now? (Joke)

edward o (edwardo), Thursday, 18 March 2004 11:44 (twenty-two years ago)

24. these tests are clearly not meant for me.

tod (tod), Thursday, 18 March 2004 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

1400-1600 points = You ARE the scene (as much as one mortal scenester can be). Besides probably being in a band or at least "the fifth member," you probably were a sidenote to scene history. Definitely dated a major scene band member or were friends with one. The other option is you rob banks or are ultra-rich and spend the money being as scene as possible. You call distributors just to find out what is going out of print. Maybe you are a CMJ company rep.

Yay me!

Mog, Thursday, 18 March 2004 12:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Something like 50-60. Lost lots of points because I've seen stadium shows and like Blink 182 unironically.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Thursday, 18 March 2004 12:32 (twenty-two years ago)

i got 1740 points but that because i buy a lot of expensive records and also sell them (without listening to them)
