Is Ryan Adams the best thing since the replacements or is he just another corporate sellout?

James Canseco, Thursday, 18 March 2004 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

He's great. Everyone knows that.

Sym (shmuel), Thursday, 18 March 2004 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Who is this Ryan Adams and why have I never seen his name on ILM before?

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 18 March 2004 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh he's really good huckle. It's great to finally get an opportunity to discuss his greatness.

Sym (shmuel), Thursday, 18 March 2004 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm drawing a blank here.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 18 March 2004 19:16 (twenty-two years ago)

He's a genius...just ask him.

Phil Freeman (Phil Freeman), Thursday, 18 March 2004 19:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I heared "This is it" last night. So what's so wrong with that one?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 19 March 2004 10:51 (twenty-two years ago)

it's spelt "bryan"

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 19 March 2004 10:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't "this is it" a Huey Lewis/News song?

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Friday, 19 March 2004 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

That's "If this is it"

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 19 March 2004 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

If this is it, please let me know.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 19 March 2004 16:03 (twenty-two years ago)

So Ryan Adams is doing Huey Lewis covers now?

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Friday, 19 March 2004 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

i think the statement about him being the best thing since the replacements seems accurate. and college was really really great

All material hit and miss (except Heartbreaker) but the highs are high. The lows are pretty low ("I got a Halloweenheeeeeeeead") but I cannot resist.

Is Ryan Adams the best thing since the replacements or is he just another corporate sellout?

Neither.

He simply makes music that I don't like, end of story.

I'm gonna mention ilxor in everyone of my posts until I get dn'd (ilxor), Thursday, 7 October 2010 13:28 (fifteen years ago)

Oh, Heartbreaker's hit and miss too. But yeah, the highs are high. Some great stuff on Cold Roses too. Search: "Magnolia Mountain," "Cold Roses," "Sweet Illusions"...

one year passes...

'Sweet Illusions' and 'How Do You Keep Love Alive' are devastating. Gold is terrible though, as is a lot of Demolition, Rock N Roll, Pneumonia, and Love is Hell. JCN, 29, Darkbreaker, Those Weren't the Days/SA, and some assorted live stuff is incredible though, even if I am a fanboy. His haircut is impossible, you guys...
