Outkast videos DVD

They've had some cool videos over the years, but this sounds pretty dull, actually. Amazon.co.uk informs us that "The tracklist includes 'Player's Ball', 'Southernplaylisticadillacmuzik', 'Elevators (Your And Me)', 'Atliens', 'B.O.B.', 'Ms. Jackson', 'So Fresh, So Clean', 'The Way You Move', 'Hey Ya!', and 'The Whole World'."

Which is pretty duff. That can't be all of it, surely?

As this DVD looks like being shite and no one cares anyway, let's turn this into a thread called "Music DVDs; search and destroy".

We care a lot

I have it. Some videos (from Stankonia onwards, really) are brilliant and it's fun to see Dre en Big Boi as teenagers in the first few videos. But it's nothing more than a video collection and it doesn't even include all of their videos, I think. I mean, I can't remember ever seeing videos for Rosa Parks or Spottieottiedopalicious but they were singles, right? They're not on this DVD, that's for sure.

what exactly were you expecting Sick? i've seen all those videos and they're mostly cool - not heard of a 'rosa parks' vid sadly

stevem (blueski), Friday, 19 March 2004 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

i would take it this means there will be no more single releases with videos from SB/TLB then?

stevem (blueski), Friday, 19 March 2004 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Aye, it seems like as good a way as any to say "we're done".

I dunno what, stevem. I wasn't expecting anything, in all probability; but I was kinda hoping that it'd be cool and silly.

Expectations raised by the Jonze/Gondry/Cunningham stuff? (which I ALMOST bought at lunch for £15)

Singing animals! Wallpaper falling down! What else do you want?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 19 March 2004 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

the BOB video is good - armoured cadillacs and purple lawns ahoy

stevem (blueski), Friday, 19 March 2004 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

wait a minute where the hell is 'Land Of A Million Drums'???!

stevem (blueski), Friday, 19 March 2004 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

It should at least try to pad the shit with interviews or live performances or sumliekat!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 19 March 2004 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Atliens is a great video too. I just assumed Rosa Parks wasn't on there for lawsuit reasons, but then I can't remember the video anyway.

There was a video for Rosa Parks, it starts with a split screen phone call between Big Boi and Andre, deciding whether a party should be pimped out or futuristic or something like that to illuminate their differences blah blah blah. The video has Andre in big furry pants and knee pads, with a lame wavy, stock psychedelic image as the backdrop, I remember it mostly being around a food place or something. It wasn't really that dope. And it's not on there because of the lawsuit, yes.

surely theres no harm in them cashing in on their success. release bloated double album to critical acclaim, release stripped down video dvd, move units.
