Fleetwood Mac - Destiny Rules

I'm watching this documentary on VH-1 about the making of last year's "Say You Will" album. It's hilarious.
There's a scene featuring Lindsey Buckingham arguing with Stevie Nicks over her inconsistent verb tense within a lyric. "You wouldn't say that to Bob Dylan. That's the kind of poet I am," she replies.
It's like "Spinal Tap" only real.

Actually, I guess that CD comes out next week. But the doc was filmed last year.

Stevie's hilarious in this. She shows up to the studio with her own Dreamcatcher!

But hey, the album's good, and I like any opportunity to watch Lindsey in action. I love when he basically threatens to take all his songs off the album and use them as a solo disc if Mick Fleetwood (or more specifically, his manager) won't let him record a sprawling art-rock disc that, in Lindsey's words, "only reaches 300,000 people." He also namedrops Todd Solondz, basically admitting that he favors cult stardom freedom over superstardom cog-in-the-machine politics.

Oh how I wish he would. Screw those other Fleetwoods.

I really admire him, too, but I thought he kind of came off as a jackass in that documentary.

Stevie's Bob Dylan thing was pretty remarkable, agreed. Incredible, too, how much baggage these guys are still carrying around with them after all this time (and I don't just mean Stevie and her Gucci!).

The super-deluxe CD reissues of Fleetwood Mac, Rumors, and Tusk come out next week. I can't wait to snag the Tusk one.
