Make the decision for me. Do I spend $75.00 on a single Al Green concert ticket? When all the yays and nays are in I'll tallly 'em up and get it taken care of...

I saw him over the summer and it was pretty hot, I must say. He certainly still has the voice, and a tight band. I didn't pay any money though.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 19 March 2004 20:45 (twenty-two years ago)

YES! I saw him a few years ago for 50 or 60 bucks and it was worth every penny. If you are even marginally a fan, you won't be disappointed. If you like Al a lot, you will be in heaven.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Friday, 19 March 2004 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

if you can remotely afford it i say 'yay'.

cinniblount (James Blount), Saturday, 20 March 2004 08:28 (twenty-two years ago)

it ain't even a question

ja rule (Oops), Saturday, 20 March 2004 08:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd pay it to see him in the UK - especially given the current exchange rate...

three months pass...
My 4th of July will be spent drinking lemonade shake-ups and sitting on a lawn by the St. Louis Arch listening to the beautiful sounds of Rev. Green. The American Dream in action.

ts: 2 al green tix vs. new cd player that doesn't scratch all the time vs. cd burner

I can only pick one

Symplistic (shmuel), Monday, 21 June 2004 02:24 (twenty-two years ago)

in my town, al green is a codeword for weed.

emma cleveland (emma cleveland), Monday, 21 June 2004 02:24 (twenty-two years ago)

al green walks through his set these days. score a tape of his back-in-the-day tv appearances instead--soul train, soul! dinah shore, etc

rumple, Monday, 21 June 2004 08:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't pay 75 dollaz for anyone. Reincarnations of John Coltrane had BEST be charging under 50.

djdee2005, Monday, 21 June 2004 08:12 (twenty-two years ago)

hehhehhehheh!

Yeah, even when B.Wilson was doing "Smile" in Newcastle, £50 saw me going "It's not going to be that good, is it?" I might stretch to that for Madonna, funnily enough, just for the spectacle and for Dawn.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 21 June 2004 08:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Fuck a moneys, this is a free concert.

stephen morris (stephen morris), Monday, 21 June 2004 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

hey stephen I'm going to that show too!

teeny (teeny), Monday, 21 June 2004 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

i saw him 4 years ago in baltimore and i was really disappointed. he came out for like 35-40 minutes. he DID do love and happiness, which was great, but it was way too short to be worth that much money.

peter smith (plsmith), Monday, 21 June 2004 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Here's to St. Louis, teeny!

stephen morris (stephen morris), Monday, 21 June 2004 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)
