I think a case could be made.
'Dead Men Tell No Tales' and his work with Rowland S. Howard are particularly telling examples, but there are also a number of Jacobites tunes ('Cheapside' comes to mind - a plaintive dulcimer with the sounds of a busy dock in the background) that would also make appropriate examples.
