Brazen Hussies 29 October, Hope & Anchor Islington. It's a Monday so you won't have fuck-else to do. Perfect if you're into Van Morrison-influenced nu-R&B pop.

On a totally unrelated new-answers note, I missed Carl Palmer at the Jazz Cafe and I am kicking myself. I didn't even know it was on until the next day. Apparently he did 'Toccata' too! Man, am I bummed.

Hanle y your music is incredible. Your singing sounds like you're afraid to wake someone up in the next room!

I prefer seeing bands all of whose members like their own city and their own country, myself.

Robin Carmody, Saturday, 20 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Robin local pride seems a curious criteria for a band's worth.

i tht we established that all bands named for their own locale (or any other) were rubbish: eg bethnal, easterhouse, chicago, earth

On the self-promotion tip, I love Montreal and Canada. I even love Ottawa - I was just drunk and bitter about waiting in the cold for 80s music and not dancing. I have a new tape done of guitar noise and drones and jangle and harmoniums and shit. It's even got a pretty cover. Because I still don't really have the capability (or maybe just the know-how) to put music up on the web and it might be too lo-fi to transfer well anyway, we'll have to do this old-style if you want a copy. E-mail and I'll mail you a package for a very minimal cost (just to cover expenses). I can send you old tapes too (sort of positively reviewed by Josh). If you're in Montreal I'm playing Galerie Fokus (68 Duluth E at Coloniale) Nov 2 and 3.

You can't get a better endorsement than that from me, folks! :)

"i tht we established that all bands named for their own locale (or any other) were rubbish: eg bethnal, easterhouse, chicago, earth"...

Dude, what about Boston? they are awesome!

james, Sunday, 21 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh, and of course, all costs are waived if you send something you did yourself as a trade.

sundar subramanian, Sunday, 21 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I love you too anthonyeaston
