I like every album that I have ever acclaimed. In my role as a critic. Ha ha, get it? Cuz I write about music sometimes. And I acclaim stuff.

All the usual Beatle suspects, except for Abbey Road. I can get extraordinarily obsessive about them

As I re-learned this weekend, Music for Big Pink and The Band really are magnificent records. Maybe I like them because their hominess seems like a deeply-felt and imaginative simulation they created seemingly from scratch. (I mean, how many actual rustics have organs? Or drum kits, for that matter?) Same probably goes for Dylan's electric period.

Excuse me...that's Music from Big Pink.

I think between us every critically acclaimed album ever is loved by SOMEBODY on ILM. I mean all you weirdos might hate Astral Weeks but i dig it.

A PRESENT FOR EVERYONE!!! F@CK YEAH!!! ROCKIST BUBBLEGUM, AWRIGHT!

Psycho Kate (kate), Monday, 22 March 2004 16:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Is rockist the most overused term on ILM?

shookout, Monday, 22 March 2004 19:39 (twenty-two years ago)

No, that would be 'fun'

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 22 March 2004 19:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Loveless, Trout Mask Replica, Nevermind, OK Computer, tons of others actually. Who cares if its critically acclaimed? If me likes it, me likes it.

hey to my jaded ears "the world of arthur russell" actually lives up to -- or maybe surpasses -- its critical raves. And how often does that happen?
