woohoo! apparently, this is supposed to be his last tour where he'll be playing all his classics.

i got two tickets for Madison Sqaure Garden on July 12 and two for Continental Arena on July 16

I'm probably going to sell the ones for the 12th though, since the ones I got for Continental are closer to the stage.

Maybe if he plays something unannounced at First Ave. or something and I catch word of it....

i'm waiting for the first tour where he plays any of his classics straight through instead of as part of some medley/jam thing.

I would like to go, I don't know if it will happen though.

That was two tours ago. The "Hit & Run" tour. Summer & fall 2000, I think? Great show.

dammit. guess i should've caught that one.

saw him here on that tour. the medley sh1t was annoying. and of course he'd sing about pussy and then preach for 10 minutes. ugh.

andrew m. (andrewmorgan), Monday, 22 March 2004 18:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually wait, now that I think about it, yeah - he did do the medleys during a couple stretches of that show. But the setlist *was* entirely comprised of older material (i.e. he wasn't promoting a new record, like the last Rainbow Children tour). And I don't remember any of the preaching stuff (though again, he *did* do that a bit on the Rainbow Children thing).

i saw him in new york, circa "emancipation." medley / jam / medley / jam / blah / blah / blah. but still, quite entertaining. and then in the middle of it he stopped everything and did a jaw-dropping rendition of "the cross," just him and his song, and i thought to myself, damn what i wouldn't give to see him do an entire show like this.

El Diablo speaks for me there. Basically I suspect all retirement announcements now.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 22 March 2004 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Prince is overrated, simple as that. He's gotten all cookoo with all the God shit. It's been years since there has been any solid songs from him.

I got his Batman Sdtrk on Sat for $5. I'm gonna do the Batdance when I go home.
