I think this should be a category in itself on ILM. Imagine a world without... followed by the name of a band or dinger who made it big.

This may not be original (and I'd be interested in finding articles on the subject if it isn't, at which point this turns into an RFI) but I think it's interesting, because of the positive and negative aspects thereof. For example, the +ve of it giving someone else a chance. X band doesn't exist, so Y band gets a chart position on ehigher, resultant greater airplay &c. But negatively, band X isn't there to bring joy to millions, influence other bands, perhaps start a whole scene or movement.....
