So there's a music store near my work that I often frequent, and I'm inexplicably drawn everytime to these pepetually unsold album by this 'Kracker' fellow. I pick them up and enjoy his fat, greasy face and bad clothes, then I put them down again.

What's the deal with it?

I did some work in his house last year.

He was a genuinely nice guy who seemed to really love his wife and his little girl. I am not particularly into his records, but I do have respect for him as a person.

Point taken, Aaron, but the strange thing is, they do have a fair number of country radio stations in Australia, and they import at least some of their twang direct from Tennessee.

There's a sense in which country music is distinctly American, of course, but it's also a worldwide phenomenon...
