New Graham Coxon album (promo)-- I kinda like it

Surprisingly. Wish someone else was singing, and wish about half of the songs were better, but it's a hell of a lot more fun than Think Tank (I know, faint praise). Makes me wonder if I should have paid more attention to his previous solo albums...

Sample song titles: "You Balding Bastard," "Only a Prawn in Colchester," "'The PROJECT Means More Than the Band, Coxon, I'm Off.'"

His earlier solo albums are pretty spotty, and not nearly as good as Blur, though there are a couple interesting things here and there. The song "Locked Doors" from the last one is fabulous.

What's the title of the new album?

I found it deathly boring and not at all fun. His last LP was leagues better, 'cause it had actual songs rather than just well-produced chord changes.

Only listened to it once. If it had been a random demo from an unknown artist, I'd have binned it. The single's great though, even if it is a pretty straight rip-off of The Skids' "Into The Valley"...

Love the single too - its a 7 inch only though, right?

The only thing on any of the earlier albums I can listen to now is Oochy Woochy off the Golden D, which is fantastic...
