Anyone got any of the Talk Talk remasters?

Any difference? I am kind of tempted to buy another copy of 'Spirit Of Eden' if it's the case of, "Oh, when the initial CD release came out, our technology was crap, and this is the way it should have sounded..."

Anyone? There was a good thread or two on these guys so I thought there'd be a bunch of folks more in the know than me...

Haven't answered my own question, but I did notice that the way they seperate the first two tracks is different. On the earlier issue, "The Rainbow" is about a minute longer, and "Eden" starts when the music itself does a more overt change. On the remaster, "Eden" now contains the more ambient bits that end "The Rainbow" as it's beginning, instead of starting off as they finish. I mean, the music is the same, just where they made the cut-off points between tracks...

are you talking about the brand-new state-of-the-ary sacd discs that have extra layers for sacd players (like those stones remasters from a couple years ago)?

no, they're run of the mill remasters. I only have the "It's My Life" remaster, but I never heard the earlier issue so I don't know how much it's improved.

To clarify, no, they're no SACD. They're just remastered, circa 1997. They have on the spine pics of the cover, plus a letter. Put the first four side by side and it spells "T-A-L-K" twice. Pretty snazzy...
