BIG/puffy

So I was listening to Ready To Die, and are not Puff Daddy's vocal interjections in the background the most fucking asinine/infuriorating thing ever? I am thinking of Juicy, where puffy says something after EVERY LINE. Like seriously, are you fucking KIDDING ME? Jesus. I would say they ruin the song but it's just as awesome if you don't pay attention to them. This is also the case with Hypnotize, as I remember. And Everyday Struggle to a lesser degree... and the track after it which is playing now. It could very well be every song on the album now that I think about it and I've just never noticed it (perhaps cause I am listening w/ headphones now). But anyway, Juicy most of all - when you pay attention to the Puffy vocal parts they are unbearable. Like obviously he has/had a wanting-to-be-on-people's-songs-complex, but seriously, what the fuck?

When I delved deep into Life After Death this year what I discovered was that it was the lame Puffy interjections that had been causing me to say dumb shi like "Biggie wasn't all that great" and so on - he practically ruins the otherwise Godlike "What's Beef," is lame on Ready to Die's "Big Poppa," I hate him and become (more) unreasonable when he is a topic of conversation

How else are we to know that "yea...it's all good"?

I love when Busta does those interjection tracks.

hypnotize would sound incomplete with puff's background interjections. girls walk to us, wanna do us, screw us-- who us? yeah, poppa and puff (hahahaha), close like starsky and hutch. same with most other songs, i think.

Yeah Puffy's interjections don't bother me at all really. He's a character.

It does work pretty well between Biggie & Puffy when it's in an actual call and response format than when it's just Puffy making his presence on the track known.

his interjections on big poppa are great!

after seeing the B.I.G. footage in The Show and hearing a concert recording on the radio on the anniversary of his death recently, I can say that Puff was a pretty great hype man onstage with Biggie.

also I never thought his presence on Ready To Die was especially prominent, at least compared to every album he was involved in from 97 onward.

Timbaland is the absolute worst when it comes to this. Shut the fuck up with your "wicka wicka....uh huh...unh". Keep your ego in check.

Lol@the Timbaland post, I never bought into the idea that the other producers did all the work but it just makes me think of hearing "Pusher Love Girl" and wondering if he only did the goofy wobbly vocoder vocals & nothing else
