Starbucks has gone further by becoming a music publisher as well as a distributor. Last week the legendary 73-year-old jazz and blues man, Ray Charles, announced that his next album, the first since 2001, a collection of duets with Norah Jones, Elton John, James Taylor, BB King and others, would be a coffee shop exclusive, jointly financed by Concord Records and Starbucks.
