I thought this would be a thread about what's cool in France.

Is the music scene feminine?

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

If we're lucky.

Sick Nouthall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

dance disaster movement will change you forever. i think they're from long beach but still. human hands, the urinals, morris tepper.

dan (dan), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

deerhoof, especially live, are so good that they've essentially transcended their san fran roots and (arguably) should be considered an la band.

dan (dan), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

i saw dance disaster movement last night! i don't know if they changed me forever, but they were sure better than the headliner.

morris pavilion (samjeff), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, dance disaster seconded. if they weren't from long beach, i wouldn't have anything against them. also, i think becky stark is currently residing in LA? either way she is great and the mystical unionists are great also.

dean! (deangulberry), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

the south bay surfers

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Morris, what show did you see last night? Wait a minute, this should all be on the "Los Angeles, California" thread I started, goddamn it!
So DDM are good? I saw them at one of their first shows a long time ago opening for Q and Not U and I wasn't sure if they were just another Rapture-clone... but I hear enough good things about them to make me curious... how are their recordings?

Ben Boyer (Ben Boyer), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

so, yeah, bring it over here!:
Los Angeles, California

Ben Boyer (Ben Boyer), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Rockist Scientist, Tuesday, 30 March 2004 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I was about to start talking about zydeco.

Gear! (Gear!), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

i hate the bronx

bloodandfire, Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:14 (twenty-two years ago)

(i don't really like 400 blows; i just mentioned them because i know that a lot of people do like them)

dean! (deangulberry), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:16 (twenty-two years ago)
