Longest-Running Band Still With Original Members?

And I mean a sort of well known group, i.e. don't care much if the local bluegrass group in your town has been at it since 1956. I am sadly lacking in this trivia dept. I can come up with Aerosmith (1970, right, and I am not counting that dreadful one off Rock in a Hard Place, but nonetheless they are all back together now anyway.) 34 years sounds like a long time to me. But I can't be right.

I'm sure we did this quite recently....

Bloody search function's going at about 2MPH.

IIRC though, we had enormous fun introducing all sorts of bizarre rules, it all got wonderfully pedantic, and I have an unpleasant supicion that U2 was the best answer anyone could come up with.

ZZ Top boasts of being the longest running trio.

Career Bands Who've Always Had the Same Lineup

That's the thread I was looking for, thanks Christoff

The thing I love about ZZ Top is the tenacity of their unchangingness. When they needed horns on Deguello, they went out and learned to play them, because their policy was (and is) that if a sound is going to be made on a ZZ Top record, it's going to be made by a member of ZZ Top.

Well after reading that other thread I still Aerosmith wins. I'm not asking about if they ever broke up, that awful record w/o Perry and Whitford simply was an aberration anyway. I do think they are the oldest rock group that still has its original members, no?

As noted in the linked thread, ZZ Top date back to 1967-68.
