there's a 7" single player in the car in 'Take Care of Your Scarf, Tatjana', the Aki Karausmaki film (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110832/). Was actually a slot loader, different model from the one on the webpage.

i'm told there's another in a Hal Hartly film.

My turntable's operating manual advises caution when operating in a car

It is a technics SL-10 and can play off DC power (and theoretically at an angle or upside down as it is a linear tracker with a built-in record clamp)

feel this feature may come in handy during the forthcoming Mad Max era
