the lost cause just got more lost

oh well. Old 97s sure were a great band

the old 97s do have a new album coming out in mid to late summer, though, on a new record label, so why he's continuing with the solo stuff just baffles me.

yeah, "The Instigator" had a couple of good songs but it wasn't mind-blowing. What the heck?

Well, when I saw him last year in DC, his very pregnant wife was in the audience. He spoke quite a bit about his impending dad-ness, so one wonders whether finding Jesus is part of that. Pity.

Dunno about that. But I saw the Old '97s at Bowery Ballroom in January and they were very bandlike and talking about how they couldn't wait to record the new album and played a couple of good new songs. And there was no godtalk, and there was beer drinking on stage. So whatever Rhett's doing on his own, it's obviously not getting in the way.

The new album is supposedly closer to Too Far To Care than Satellite Rides - maybe he's using his solo material as an outlet for poppy material.

Ken Bethea didn't mention Xtianity or any lifestyle changes in his tour diary that the Observer published - http://www.dallasobserver.com/issues/2004-02-19/music.html/1/index.html
