I'm waiting for the string tribute to the Kronos Quartet.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 4 April 2004 00:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm imagining an all-strings rendition of "Just Can't Get Enough". And it's not working at all.

Not too long ago while browsing through the record store I saw that there's one for P.O.D. I wasn't sure whether to cry or laugh.

I read this as 'Can't get enough Sting tributes'. I thought you were very strange.

The best resource on the internet for information regarding the String Tributes is the String Tribute website at:

http://tmrpro.com

That is one of the producer's for the tribute CDs and it is the most "up-to-date" and informative resource that I have been able to find.

six months pass...
The best resource on the internet for information regarding the String Tributes...

Scary. I don't really want to know more about them or have more of them be released, either.

I mean, really, WTF is up with the flood of them. I was on Amazon today and there is already a String Quartet Tribute to Velvet Revolver.

What's next? Maybe we can have the string quartet tribute albums released on the same day as the original album! Better yet, they could be bundled together! Waaaaah!

I think I saw one for Ruben Studdard once.

String covers of Brian Eno songs

Please tell me that they don't actually play any of the ambient material (Music for Airports, Plateaux of Mirror, etc.).

The Beyoncé one is great. The Tori Amos one is less great.
