just this weekend, i got my hands on this little comp:

... and i am wondering, "how the HELL did this escape my notice till now?" at its best, care was like some sort of combo of echo and the bunnymen, tears for fears, and the smiths -- at the respective bests of each of the following groups.

A great band. Ian Broudie and Paul Simpson, who'd just left the Wild Swans (and before that was in the Teardrop Explodes - he co-wrote the debut single Bouncing Babies and even gave the band their name). I have three Care singles, Whatever Possessed You, My Boyish Days and Flaming Sword (which grazed the Top 40). I'm pretty sure that's all they ever did.
They sound nothing like The Dylans.
