I remember hiding that cassette from my mom because of Darlene (the Syndicate Queen's) revealing bathing suit....

I still do; just today by moms came round just when I was listening to "Power" and I hid it behind some other records

I still love the bit where the drug-user rejects the LL Cool J being offered to him

The 16-year old hard rocker in me loved the Heart sample on "Personal". The 32 year old hard rocker in me loves it too!

One of the reasons I fell in love with the gal who his now my shorty 4 life is becuase we both new all the words to "Girls L.G.B.N.A.F." This came up on our first date.

I you were riding with my teenaged self in my Dodge Omni in 1988/1989 you would've heard *Power*, *Straight Outta Compton*, *It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back*, Crowded House's *Temple of Low Men*, Lou Reed's *New York* or The Smiths' *Louder Than Bombs*. That's how I rolled back in the day.

funny enough, "It Takes A Nation Of Millions" is 16 years old, too.
As is "Follow The Leader"
As is "Strictly Business"
As is "The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick"
As is....

this jam is directed to all of those who expected for me to cold be rejected but now I'm highly respected
now their ears are infected with dollar signs I've collected
jealous punks, I said it: TAKE IT PERSONAL

Yo I knew it I knew it this tape was the dopest tape I ever heard in my motherfucking life

This album screams 1988 in some places, but it still sounds good.

Just last week, someone at work requested one of the new ultrathin laptops and I said "Sorry those are for high rollers only".

ice's antidrug stance provided welcome support for my self portrait of the author as a young straightedge teen
i remember using two tape dubs of this to dual cassette "scratch dj" at sleepovers after focused viewings of WWF's Saturday Night's Main Event
