Has anyone bought any VCDs from www.punkcast.com? I am tempted and at $4 a pop it seems you can't go wrong, but what do you have to say about it?

DESTROY the clip you can download of Crazy Rhythms DJing at Motherfucker, it's just a few minutes of Mike Simonetti playing the House of Jealous Lover's accapella over Lil Louis French Kiss. If you buy the VCD, you can watch Mike and I djing for 50 minutes, which is weird. It's too dark to see the crowd, you just watch us. You see some girl put her hand on the turntable while Soho's Hot Music is playing and Mike scolding her. You see me messing up many mixes, and nailing a few. In some cases Joly paused the camera before the mix, only getting the middle of the songs, which is no fun! But it's still a testament to our selection, for what it's worth. Dance-floor fillers for the Centro-fly crowd and some deep obscurities.

but you're probably more curious about the ones with "bands" on them.

search: Joly is a serious PUNK ROCK legend!

destroy: he doesn't wear shoes.

Buy something if you're a fan of the band -- the sound/image quality is not completely pro-quality (it's PUNKCAST, for god's sake), but it's great if you're into the band. That said, I think there are some that might be less wonderful than others. Still, you really can't go wrong at $4, and just about every one I've seen is pretty great.
Also, search: the quality of Joly's weed.
destroy: the haters who want him to wear shoes.

you try standing downwind then, hippie.

I prefer to read that as sequential instructions: try standing downwind, then hippie. I'm kind of intrigued about how one might hippie, though.

i think this is a project to work on the next time we're at a bar together.

Agreed.
