I never bought the CD collections (should I?) but the 7"s were all killer as far as I recall. Haven't heard them in a while but was inspired by an old friend talking about how great Jonestown was (I didn't remember them, or the fact that Tom Greenwood was in the band) last night. Think its time for a reevaluation.

How 'bout it, ILM? Any duds as far as you can remember?

The Dwarves' "Lesbian Nun" is fantastic.

I have fond memories of 1-3, and the resulting CD comp. They included pretty much my favorite tunes by Surgery and the God Bullies, plus some good stuff by lotsa others, including the still somewhat underexposed U-Men. And then there's the Cows' "Almost a God," which is in its own class of pure retarded genius. A fine snapshot of the era's noisier crapola.

Past that, I paid less and less attention, so can't help ya there.

The VHS versions seemed really funny at the time. Then again, most things seemed funny at that particular time. We laughed and laughed in one rotten little apartment after another, while time kept grinding on in its unamusing way. Ha. Ha. Ha.
