Probably not, right? Oh well. Anyway, there's two old songs on the new 13 track full-length, but there's also 2 bonus videos on the CD to watch on your computer, so that makes up for it, right? Anyone hear it yet? If you order from their website, you get a free sticker to put on your toilet.

the strokes have a bigger tour bus than iggy pop.

ethan, Saturday, 27 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

but not as big as slipknots. as determined by science.

jess, Saturday, 27 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

well iggy pop is just one guy and they're like seven or eight or something.

deja vu.

jess, Saturday, 27 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i bet the strokes have recorded or will record in the near future a song called 'deja vu'.

I like the Strokes, but I think they are not all that exciting, are they? Someone recently described them this way to me:
"It's like, remember when Soundgarden was supposed to be the next big thing and then Nirvana completely overshadowed them? It's like that. The Strokes are just the first real rock band to come around since numetal shitted up the airwaves, so it sounds good, but it's not great. It's kind of boring. So, I'm waiting for the next band. That should be good."

I kind of agree with him. The Strokes are good, but they're not great.

yeah, you just keep waiting for that next nirvana.

blech, no thanks, I'm sick of the first one.

Toilet Boys got their big "break" when some friends of theirs crashed the Howard Stern Show to flash tits and play the Boys' single (back in The Day). Association with the Howard Stern Show = DUD.

Courtney Love also said they were her favorite band of the moment when she was on Howard Stern. Nah, Toilet Boys are actually going to get bigger. They've been having legal troubles since 1997, their first year, when they signed to Roadrunner. Roadrunner tried to change them, make them less gay, I guess, and now they're finally back under their own label. I think they'll make a pretty big splash out there touring this year. Or next. It would be nice to see Ms. Guy get famous before he loses those good looks.

the strokes blow

Mike, please try and focus. This thread is about the TOILET BOYS.

I saw the Toilet Boys a few times on the small stage at Don Hill's several years ago, and they put on a fun show. A couple years later, a saw them at a much larger venue here in San Francisco, and was somewhat confused to see a much larger stage show, with flames and special effects, and a huge audience that seemed to think they were at a heavy metal show (which they kind of were)... I think becoming MORE gay would be a good idea for them. I'm sure they won't "kill" the Strokes, I'd like to see both bands succeed. Anyway, if you think the Strokes are gimmicky and contrived, then surely the Toilet Boys are more so...

i would like to see Gwar kill both the Toilet Boys and the Strokes.

chaki, Sunday, 28 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Sean, Toilet Boys are a gimmick. Cool music, though. It's like Iggy Pop + Faster Pussycat. Reminds me of Turbonegro's newer stuff. I like that punkglammetal crap. Solos are fun. Oh yeah, and Gwar should have died long ago.
