but i managed to get my hands on the war report, and found it a much more satisfying listen. i like the hard-as-rock solidity of the beats, and lots of good moody piano lines too. it's a very Strong-sounding record (in the physical sense, not just in that it's consistent or good or whatever) - really hard and violent and moody.
uh, so i heard c-n-n have an album out this year. either it is out already (on the net it says march release in a few places) or it is soon to be released - either way i have not seen or heard it. but has anyone on ilx?

I really really dislike Capone so feel that 'Reunion' is dragged down by his presence. New album is 2004 called 'New Religion'.

don't doubt it, every leak i've heard's been a blast - even the primo track's hot, and they invariably disappoint me nowadays.
can't imagine anyone sends you promos so where's it at titch.

theres a few clunkers on the production, but even on those, they rap so well that i dont really care. yeah, even primo didnt go boring on his track, but for the most part, the beats are exactly what you want. even the standard club banger track with ron browz is unexpectedly hot. basically, cnn still rap as good as they were doing back on the war report - which, i dunno about anyone else, but i didnt see that happening.
just do a google blog or torrent search innit.

yeah "Rotate" is definitely my favorite nu-Browz single, "raps so well" isn't a phrase that comes to mind when i think of NORE but i am curious to hear the album

im not saying theyre doing triplets or being super technical, but how many guys rap this hard/still have something to say after doing it this long? i know ilx was wetting itself over the last heltah skeltah album, which i thought had its moments but this is way more consistent and just a better put together album. this is CNN-type nore btw, not solo nore.

been spinning the war report real heavy lately
― deej, Tuesday, 15 March 2011 01:55 (fourteen years ago)
The beats on this thing were so fuckin heavy for NY in '97. What other records sounded like this then? it wasnt going for that Trackmasters R&B sound, but it sounded huge

i'm digging War Report 2, I mean it doesn't even hold a candle to the original, and it's a bit workaday at times, but it's listenable and fun....
Capone's voice is sounding more and more like that goofy voice DMX used to use for his satanic alter-ego tho....
