anthonyeaston, Saturday, 27 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

That's because you're too fast for me. Try again, sweetcheeks.

David Raposa, Saturday, 27 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Like we don't know who THIS is..

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Sunday, 28 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

even still, it's the best thing he's done so far...

Good and clever stuff. Makes me think a lot of Frank Zappa. It is a small musical opera in less than six minutes. No idea who it is. First I thought the singer/speaker had a German (?) accent but later on it sounds American to me.

also, because i know you're reading this, this goes onto the short list of songs which legitimately frighten me. bastid.

jess, Sunday, 28 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Reading the other responses I can guess who this is. Did he submit the song himself, David? Anyways I had never heard anything of his. And this could well have been the third listening chamber after Pinback and Jeff Beck that will make me run to the record store.

It reminds me of Armand Schaubroeck.

Arthur, Sunday, 28 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

too bizarre/weird/abstract/arty for me. i don't think i could impress girls with this.

krisinho, Sunday, 28 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I usually like the weird/abstract/arty stuff myself but this just doodles along without really impacting much on me. I dislike the spoken word voice most of all.

philT, Sunday, 28 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

what's the point of language, if you're going to abuse it? I don't know .. I work in a newsroom, and I'm constantly confronted by speech all day long, people shouting to each other, babbling, talking on phones, hearing it on the television in the office and at home, bits of conversations heard on the street ... and this just seems like further pollution of sound.

Don't get me wrong, I like odd, goofy music ... but when I go for something nutty, it's usually of the non-vocal variety because weird abstract/noise/ambient music can express feelings not quite resolvable in words .... whereas this just seems like scatalogical self-absorbtion, contemplating the lint in one's bellybutton ..

maybe I'm just not fun !

chris, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

horrid. pure trash.

Mike Hanle y, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I hate the song more than I hate orange jumpers

Mike Hanle y, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ok David, so who is responsible for this highly subversive crap!?

Mike Hanle y, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Gee, Mike, I have absolutely NO idea whatsoever.

David Raposa, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

David, will this listening chamber never be opened then? I really would like to know who this is as like the track. Could the person who submitted this please stand up and tell us what it was?

alex in mainhattan, Monday, 5 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

If Mike stopped being so coy, maybe he could tell us what this track is supposed to mean, since I'm 99.9% sure (as most have already guessed) that the track is HIS.

David Raposa, Monday, 5 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mike, stop stroking your ocelot and ANSWER!

David Raposa, Monday, 5 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)
