Vendetta Red - Shatterday

I have this on a mix and I find its new emo optimism very fascinating and genuinely catchy. The smoothness of the transition into the bridge is nice as well. The lyrics are dummy pretentious in a Jewel-ish manner.
Scars, they cut into you
blisters, rose colored hue
these mescaline memories are morose
your kerosine company's comotose

I can't recall another song that wanted so badly to be an anthem. Was this a hit? I bet the record company thought it'd be the emo "smells like teen spirit." I saw the band profiled on MTV2 once over the summer. The singer looks like Roger Daltry and the band bragged about how physically beat up they get after their wild and crazy shows. The singer also said the song was a message to the youth of America "to go out and do something."

Has anyone heard the Vendetta Red record titled "Between the Never and the Now"? Do any other songs come close to the mountain high absurdity of shatterday?

I was hoping this was you! Still haven't heard it myself.

Profiled on MTV2 -- I think the people in this band were clones incubated by MTV2. "The worst and least musical ad agency rock and roll modeling band since Cake Like," that's how it went down from my viewpoint.

Vendetta Red hopefuls prepare to grow old and croak.

I bought their CD and I partly agree with the link's (Village Voice)review. They do employ somewhat of a formula, but it seems to work on many of there songs. Granted, the album's somewhat overproduced, but I kinda like the emo/heavy anthemic choruses hybrid thing they're going for. They're a young band and I think they're next album will tell the tale as to whether they'll be around for awhile or not.
