Michael Jackson: INVINCIBLE?

So this weekend I've been listening to this thing a bit and its also about to officially drop in the upcoming days. It seems people haven't said all that much about "You Rock My World" and what actually was said was negative. So now.... who's heard the album and has a rant to spit...... ?

all that i have to say about jacko is that from a distance, i thought the big scary photo of his face on the promo poster was richard james. take that for what you will.

I thought it was a poster of Frodo from Lord of the Rings...

Well, when I saw the face on the cover, I thought more of former UK soapstar and reformed mono-nostril coke addict Daniella Westbrook!!!!

Everybody on the face of the plantet says that it sucks an astonishing amount of donkey genitalia.

David, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Maybe it should have been called Breakable.

I read an interesting little conspiracy theory about Sony wanting Invincible to fail, because MJ has borrowed all sort of money from them and if Sony doesn't recoup any of the cash from the album sales they will be able to claim his collateral - the Beatles catalog.

Haven't actually heard the album yet.

Nicole, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

OK ok.. enough about his face. I guess everybody finds the music rather inconsequential. That and nobody wants to bother.

Honda, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Of Course Jacko is Invincible! Everytime he does a video he shows off at least one of his super-powers. That was a *real* cue ball he crushed, man. But seriously, I do think that Nicoles pet theory does make sense. When was the last time an MJ album got onto a Top 100 list of all time? But you can't sneeze without spewing nose goblins on a Top 100 with Revolver at the top.

Lord Custos, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well, despite the painful intro, "2000 Watts" is kind of fierce. Of course, it sounds nothing like Michael Jackson.

When was the last time an MJ album got onto a Top 100 list of all time?

Well, dunno- surely "Thriller" or "Off The Wall" at least qualifies for the top 200? Anyway, most of these UK "best of" lists are chosen by people programmed to put "Revolver", "Pet Sounds" and "Definately Maybe" as the top 3, so how reliable are they?

If an Oasis record is in their Top 100, they aren't very reliable at all. Especially if "Be Here Now" rates higher then "The La's".

My sister-in-law is a figure somewhat intimidating in her success, income, and style, all earned at a very young age. She's a great lady but I was kind of afraid for along time I wasn't up to her standards. Then I found out 'Invincible' was one of her favorite albums, and it made her seem so much more human.
