Lately my Ipod is for walking to Gold's Gym and for working out there: for working out I need things that can block the shite trance they play so I tend to go for metal or big, burly compositions; the walk home goes best with folk and pop:

(no order here)

Devendra Banhart "A Sight to Behold"
Incredible String Band "A Very Cellular Song"
The Carpenters "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft"
Fairport Convention "Farewell, Farewell"
Lamonte Young "89 VI 8 c. 1:42-1:52"
Cavity "Pulling Up The Stakes"
Giacinto Scelsi "Anahit"
Khanate "Pieces of Quiet"
Iannis Xenakis "Voyage Absolu Des Unar Vers Andromede"
Sun Ra "Adventure Equation"

My iPod insists that my most played song is "When the Levee Breaks" at 458 plays. This is not true, at least not when I'm in the room. I suspect that my iPod is having "Get the Led Out" parties when I'm away at work.

since, as far as i can tell, every gym in the western world (and maybe beyond) plays shite trance as a matter of course, i find myself wondering ... does any member of any gym anywhere actually like that stuff?
