I was recommended a seven inch single of New Bad Things, but never saw anything by them again. Anyone got any clues?

Their discography is huge and spotty, but the high points are very very high (and the low points pretty damn low). "The Dirge" (the "I love you no matter where you spend the night" song) is just about perfect, song- wise... best albums are "Freewheel!" and "Ennui Go," and I was always fond of some of their singles, esp. "Let Her Stay" and "Freemason Love Triangle."

I think they had a bad reputation because their first U.K. indieground hit was a sort of novelty-ish thing called "I Suck."

Saw them live once, at a house party; they encored with a cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Relax" that tore the roof off.

Addendum: The C-Sides is a spotty odds & ends compilation, but it has a few "classics" ("Josh Has a Crush on a Femme From Reed", "Rasputin Lover"), and is available for cheap ($3!) from the Blackbean & Placenta Tape Club. (Kids and their rock music, I tell ya...)

Unfortunately, that's the only disc of theirs I actually own. D to the O to the H.

Their split with the Delgados (on Lizzys, I think) has two of their best songs on it- Caravana is ace, with the brass actually in key. Don't know if I'd buy an album though.

I've got an archived radio show with an hour of New Bad Things in the middle here: http://www.wfmu.org/Playlists/Douglas/dw.010524.html
