Pop rants

well seeing as the new series looms on the horizon i thought i would stick up for Jools a little by sayin i'm looking forward to what is still, despite Holland's only slightly irritating mannerisms and pandering to dull bands like Coldplay and archaic folky/jazz combos, the blatant cliqueyness of the audience and the best programme on British TV for live music (Re:covered could be good but Dermot O Leary doesnt even half the passion for the job as Jools at least does). Oh sure we'll get the likes of Toploader, Ash and The Vines on the new series but if we're lucky we might also get The Strokes, The Rapture, The Streets, The Coral, Jazzanova and other more interesting and newer bands - just be glad there is one programme that will cover acts like this and allow them to play live (unlike TOTP)

wonder if there's a new series of Jo Whiley on the way as well...
