If people had taste, the current positions of Moose and Blur vis a vis record sales would be reversed now

Does anyone else love Moose? Because I fucking well do, antlered cows and criminally ignored band.

A very good band, wish I had more of their astoundingly hard to find stuff, at least over here. I'm pleased to see they keep going about what they do. Is whathisname still going out with Roxane from th Faith Healers? In fact, whatever happened to the rest of that lot?

four classic records, and yet no one appreciates them but billy and i. russel moose has the dreamiest voice in music today, sigh. i am surprised they have kept at it, i hope they don't soon throw in the towel. i was disappointed the collage girl was not around for the last album cover but that is easy to get over. i still like blur though, well up to great escape.

My favorite of the original Hut bands, harhar. I'm pretty indifferent to Blur, but I'd be happy if Moose had 1/4th of their sales. If they did, they might be able to put records out more regularly. Lord knows they've got the creativity, they just don't have the resources. But yes, thoroughly great band -- High Ball Me was one of my favorite records of last year.

I'm with 'the people' on this one. Never liked Moose. Sorry.

Moose fans are few and far between, but a devoted bunch. I love 'em, saw them play in Cardiff Uni in 1994, one of the best gigs of my life, even if they were late and only did eight songs, but what songs! A magical band with that rare ability to throw in a chord change to make butterflys appear in your stomach ("XYZ", "Eve in a dream", "Dress you the same".) And the early shoegazing stuff is good too.

Always thought they were shite.

six years pass...

I suddenly noticed (they've been there a while apparently) that three of their albums (not the first one) are on eMusic. Had HBM and XYZ, but hadn't heard the other two. Nice!

ha, I thought billy was a dude in the band at first, until I went back and re-read the original post

I likes me some Moose, though, and would prolly rather listen to them these days than any Blur that I can think of...

ha, I thought billy was a dude in the band at first, until I went back and re-read the original post

confusing wording...that is to say, I thought that the "billy" referred to in Noodle's post was a bandmemember

dell, Sunday, 16 September 2007 04:55 (seventeen years ago)

moose were so beautiful. come back moosie.

keythkeyth, Sunday, 16 September 2007 05:25 (seventeen years ago)

Moose fucking kill Blur, as any other band does.

andi, Sunday, 16 September 2007 07:28 (seventeen years ago)

I would fist fight Damon Albarn, and win, if I ever had the chance.

andi, Sunday, 16 September 2007 07:30 (seventeen years ago)

i hope they all get aids rrrrraaaaaaaghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

andi, Sunday, 16 September 2007 07:31 (seventeen years ago)

Moose were OK. Nothing more.

Blur are a bit of straw man in this instance, tbh.

PhilK, Sunday, 16 September 2007 08:27 (seventeen years ago)

everyone is crazy

Just got offed, Sunday, 16 September 2007 09:09 (seventeen years ago)

Moose are not fucking better than Blur. You guys are just on the wrong drugs, that's all.

Bimble, Sunday, 16 September 2007 14:31 (seventeen years ago)

I'd like to note that I posted that before I understood Noodle's joke.

Bimble, Sunday, 16 September 2007 14:44 (seventeen years ago)

Didnt Liz Fraser go out with one of the Moose dudes? Or still is, or married him, or something?

Trayce, Monday, 17 September 2007 07:26 (seventeen years ago)

Just vaguely familiar with the woman in th'Faith Healers thing that Ned mentioned upthread, but as far as Liz goes, dunno

dell, Monday, 17 September 2007 07:30 (seventeen years ago)

Well, by 2001 Blur were long since past their prime, but what they did in the mid 90s was great.

Geir Hongro, Monday, 17 September 2007 08:07 (seventeen years ago)

last I heard from that Moose guy (Yates or McKillop, always forget who was the singer) he was taking the "Lee Hazlewood" role on the most recent Spring album...but that was many a moon ago...

henry s, Monday, 17 September 2007 19:50 (seventeen years ago)

sixteen years pass...

I love Moose

brimstead, Tuesday, 7 May 2024 14:11 (one year ago)

Nasty, Brutish & Short, Tuesday, 7 May 2024 16:58 (one year ago)

that is an excellent ep but they got even better when they got less noisy. Incredible band.
