Query on a mystery pop song in A minor

When I was fairly young, I remember being awakened by my father's clock radio at about three in the morning, blasting at top volume, playing a song with a chorus that went, if I recall correctly, "Love is life...love is life..."

I didn't even much like the song, but I've always been curious what it was (it was forever burned into my consciousness by having to listen to it at 90db at 3 in the morning). As far as I've heard it was _not_ by Blood Sweat & Tears, or Hot Chocolate, both of whom have songs called "Love is Life". The chords in the chorus were A minor / E minor / A minor / E minor / D minor / etc., or something like that, and high male voices and piano were prominent in the mix. Medium tempo. It sounded a bit like the Romantics. Would've come out before 1985 or so.

Any ideas?

I went and listened to a sample on CDNow -- nice thought, but it's not Glass Tiger ("Diamond Sun" is the song you were thinking of, apparently -- I'd never heard of it). The song I'm thinking of is faster and much more piano-driven, with staccato eighth-note chords...

It's not "Love Life" by The Rutles is it?

Closer, but -- if the sound sample on CD Universe is representative -- nope. (I think I saw the Rutles movie soon after hearing that song, too, so I probably would've caught it if it had been.)
