My doorbell, phone, fax machine

What songs do you know that have sounds in them that you thought were coming from elsewhere when you first heard them?

For example, the U2 song I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For contains a sound which is just like the old doorbell at my parents' house. Which meant I rushed to open the door when I first I heard it on the radio, only to find no-one there!

Gosh!

I'm off for a beer.

also Wendys' In A Long Time has phone sounds in it, but not quite similar enough to mine to lead to confusion.

I think that the RIAA should insert AIM noises into mp3s.

I used to think one of the yelps in Billie Jean was my mum shouting "Nicky!!" up the stairs. I'd turn it down and shout "What?" back.

The reverse of this: for a while I used to hear the 'closing doors' pips on the tube as the start of Sorted for Es and Whizz.

Yeah, the bells on the tannoy announcement in the train station always make me think of "Bill is Dead" by the Fall.

the shins - fighting in a sack and stereolab - lo boob oscillator (i think that one) both have sounds that have me looking around to see whose phone is ringing

Is it "Sure Shot"? One of the songs on Ill Communication has a random dog bark in it, and it used to freak my cat out!

I know of a squeaky fridge door that sounds like it's a sample from James White's Offwhite album.

I always check my watch to see if the hourly chime is set when the little casio beep happens in the Flaming Lips' "What is the Light?"
