Watched AMM yesterday for about the fifth time and I think its the best ever gig they ever played. The ilmer I was with remarked how guitarist Keith Rowe switched from AM radio to FM, so we heard pop for the first time at a conecert from them.

Anyway, so wha kind of things do you listen to if you switch frequencies?

the only time I even have the radio on is to listen to sports

At work, in my office, I only get a Clunky AM country station or middle of the road FM, so I rely on CDs. But on the one day a week that I drive a truck for work, I get all sorts of Montreal / Burlington, VT coolness. I wish I drove everyday.

If I am driving at night and don't have any cds, I will sometimes scan AM radio trolling for strangeness.

Art Bell exixts for strangeness.

"Art Bell exixts for strangeness."

Yep. WLW out of Cincinnatti also puts some paranoid crazies on the radio at night, some that are so far out, it hard to believe they trust them in front of a microphone.

AM music radio can offer a spectrum only available there, and many times fewer commercials. AM is aces in my book.

Clear summer nights really reveal the fun in AM when its ionospheric rebound sends any given signal far beyond its typical pale. Many-a-childhood summer's eve found me pulling in far away stations in a SETI-like adventure.

AM radio for me isn't so great because I live quite away from large cites, and the channels wave in & out.( fuzzy reception especially at night.)
