just so this question isn't totally self-serving on my part, this here is a S/D, C/D or whatever about the japanese group Maher Shalal Hash Baz who released their second album, Blues Du Jour, at the end of last year.

the self serving part is me asking if anyone has a full track list for their first album, Return Visit To Rock Mass and if they can share it here.

second album? there are a few more than that, i thought.

anyway, reiko kudo's "rice field riping silently in the night" cd is BEAUTIFUL. it has all of the best bits of maher shalal hash baz but cuts out the more gratuitous, pointless farting around. and her voice is lovely.

yeah, i've never paid more than $2 for one of their cds so it doesn't bother me that they're all about half crap.

Tori's piano "playing" on Souvenir de Mauve gives new meaning to the notion of all kinds of awful. i've yet to meet one person who can stand more than a few minutes, much less 24:32 or 10:21, of such tuneless, pedal-smeared plinking. "the day my piano came" was a black day for us all.

Rock Mass is ok but ludicrously overpriced.
