so, are you ready for the russian garage invasion?!

matt jam lamont has signed this dude called artifact and his first ep has just come out on test press. over in russia they are all about the 4/4 and 2step. i tried to get hem into grime but they werent having it. but anyway, they seem to be turning 2step into a sort of norm for the russian pop scene. check this Dima Bilan tune, and i posted a link to an Alcu tune ages ago.
i quite like this tune which is kinda cheesey but predates that carmen tune that soveriegn did...

also, this khia bootleg:

what the russians do best is to use loads of sounds that are totally unhip and sort of embarrassing to 'western' ears, but just make cool 'cheesy' stuff without giving a shit. this is why is like scsi-9.

artifacts remix of Yana Kay, whi is this up and coming diva type, except shes actually estonian i think. this ones pretty good.

so look out for the russians at all your regressive 'old skool'/'urban house' proper garage raves ;)...

anyuway, i just thought i'd keep you up to date with things from East of Eastern Europe....just a public service thing innit

yeah that jaunty organ line mixed with 'lick my pussy...' etc etc etc is great. thats what i had in mind when i said " loads of sounds that are totally unhip and sort of embarrassing to 'western' ears"

great, i'm about to go to russia, and am a big 2step fan. here in london it's mostly dead now ... my question: is this played everywhere or restricted to certain places? any recommendation for clubs?

Ambrose, I think you pointed me towards the Russian 2step mp3 I have. Lightweight, but wholly enjoyable. Thanks for the update!
