Starts off cold n metallic, gradually warms up, starts to add vocals, moves into kompakt territory (features a michael mayer track)...i'm only at the end of disc one so far. sounds promising, but then i'm a sucker for techy / dubby / minimal house stuff. Possibly not enough thrills for others?

I only have the second disc which is indifferent electro eclecticism except for the utterly *awesome* "Tottentanz" by Dettinger.

I like this record, but in a really strange detached way. It doesn't really draw me in, but once I start listening to it I love the aesthetic.

Very Confusing.

the first disc is pretty good. there are some good tracks, but a few boring ones. the second cd - i dont know why they put that on.

i really like it

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

i've only heard the first disc. the mix of 'river' by m.i.a. and the jeremy caulfield track (can't remember the name) is truly inspired. i like that the mix isn't overly concerned about playing the newest stuff...it's more like a bunch of tracks that work really well together. that said, i could easily see where people might find it a bit clinical.

Approve, not least for the surprise factor (based on a Burridge/Richards mix album I had from a few years back)

Can you elaborate Mr. Stelfox?

hector (hector), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I've given disk 1 a few more headphones listenings, and as I recognize tracks and sounds more, am starting to love it...just like Fabric 1.

paulhw (paulhw), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 20:22 (twenty-one years ago)

i haven't listened to it properly but, even more that the usual Fabric CD's (cos it's a double), it's a packaging nightmare!

Someone has finally used a caulfield track on a commercial mix? About bloody time!

___ (___), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 20:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Does the track on that Ware compilation a while back count? It was sorta mixed.
