I am trying to find an original piano version of this song by Victor Young, the way it appeared in the film "The Uninvited," and not transformed by bebop. Any help?

Melissa W, though alas I can't help you offhand with this one, you have just become my new favorite person. :-) I'm a huge *huge* fan of The Uninvited, great film, and I always did like the song. Frighteningly the AMG lists almost 600 versions! Some are no doubt repeats, but all appear to be jazz takes. *does some further checking* I've found a couple of Young film music collections, but they're newer versions by orchestras and not the original. Hm.

I must have seen that movie at least 20 times... I've even decided that if I ever have a daughter, I shall name her Stella in honor of that song. I'd hope her eyes would be beautiful like Gail Russell's. Such a great film...frightening, romantic, and funny at all the right moments.
