fracture fucking acid-tinged folk. this is syd barrett's national nightmare of being stuck in a mental hospital music room with the salvation army band!!

doomie

was it you that was raving about the new kathryn williams album?

the (old) kathryn williams vs pedro ep (melodic) is worth hunting down and the susanna and the magical orchestra album on rune grammofon might also seduce you.

got the pedro ep -- but wtf -- susanna and the magical orchestra -- link me up!

I have now heard the Wildgoose record. Couldn't hear any Salvation Army bands but this is damn good stuff. Kind of like Les McKeown doing Oar.

"Hello I Love You Jimi Hendrix" is better than the complete works of Lenny Kravitz.

"Has anybody seen my Brylcreem?" Genius.

What do either of you think of the Gravenhurst album? I really like it

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Monday, 10 May 2004 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

It's on my never-decreasing pile of Unsolicited Stuff To Listen To, along with Half Cousin, Xploding Plastix, etc. etc. I'll get round to it. What's it like?

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 10 May 2004 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

British folk-rock played with a pretty straight bat - no electronic bits that I can recall - simple and effective. I would try and be a bit more descriptive but I've only played it once myself

Gravenhurst are now on Warp, yeah?

Choux Gazer (NickB), Monday, 10 May 2004 10:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Yep
