AC/DC producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange (the husband of Shania Twain) will work with the Lowestoft four-piece when they return to the studio, reports the BBC. The veteran has also worked with Bryan Adams, Def Leppard and Foreigner.
The Darkness have also received praise from Avril Lavigne, who claims that the band are her first choice for a collaboration.
"The Darkness are incredible," she gushed. "Their power is breathtaking and they are the one band in the world I now want to record with. I just can't stop singing their songs."

If Mutt hogties and gags wossname who sings and then lets the rest of the band continue, he would already have improved them 100%.

Shit, they ALREADY sound like Def Leppard. Listen to "Rock Rock Til you Drop" and then listen to the Darkness again.

Also I just made the connection that Shania Twain and Bryan Adams are both Canadian, and I find it interesting that Lange has achieved success with so few American bands.

THE DARKNESS CALL OUT FOR LANGE**Light-hearted British band THE DARKNESS are taking their eighties-rock act onto new levels - they've asked DEF LEPPARD producer MUTT LANGE to make their new album.**Even though Lange has been more recently associated with the mainstream country-pop music of his wife SHANIA TWAIN, the I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE stars hope the producer's heavy rock roots will bring a sparkle to their second album.**An insider says, "The boys really feel Mutt could make sure their second LP is even more successful than their debut. After all, Def Leppard were the eighties equivalents of THE BEATLES." (CPT/WNTSU WN)

needless to say the prospect of lange producing the darkness - and with any luck playing the darkness, if you know what i mean - is marginally more enticing than that of rachel goswell's first solo outing.

I just hope it won't take as long as 'Hysteria' to complete.
Sorta depends on whether the drummer keeps his arm or not.
